Welcome to The Abiding Place.  We are a Christian church, dedicated to the belief that the key to living the fulfilling life God intended for us is to abide in Him; and that this can only be done through the strength He imparts to us through meditation on, and obedience to, His Word.

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples."  ~ John 15:7-8

Pastors Jim and Beaulah Lee

Knowing that as times become more difficult, people may reach out in desperation, this web page has been constructed as a signpost for some who may find themselves seeking answers to life's questions on the internet.  We invite you to join us for Sunday morning services, or if you're in the local broadcast area (Springfield/Holyoke/Enfield), our broadcasts can be heard on WACE radio 730 AM on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m., or on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.

In addition, this site will offer broadcasts of previous messages, for those who can't join us in person.  These can be found by clicking the 'Sermons' link to the left.

Statement Of Faith

We believe in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the virgin birth; the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the atonement of our sins; and that Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father and sent the Holy Spirit to empower us as victors over sin and death.  We also believe all people, male and female, all nationalities, poor or rich, known or unknown are without distinction in Christ Jesus.

Our Mission

  1. Is to make disciples of God's children (all ages), through prayer, preaching, teaching, and being examples in our day-to-day lives, allowing Jesus Christ to manifest himself in each of us through obedience to him and the power of the Holy Spirit according to the Word of God.
  2. Let each person esteem his or her brothers and sisters above themselves.
  3. Let everything be done for the edification of the body (the whole church).
  4. Seeking spiritual gifts, following after love (not self-seeking).
  5. Assembling in fellowship together and submitting ourselves to one another in the love of Christ.
  6. Concerning prophesying, (let the elders discern) that if any speak, let them speak by the oracles of God.
  7. Helping the weak and afflicted and keeping ourselves unspotted from the world.
